Privacy Policy
Your information, handled like a neighbour's
Plain language, no fine print. If anything here is unclear, write to us and a person will answer.
What we collect
- Volunteering: your name, phone number and email, the ways you'd like to help (lawn sign, knock doors, deliver flyers, share online), whether you live in Ward 3 or Ward 4, plus your postal code if you choose to share it, when you fill out the "Sign Me Up" form.
- The voting location search: nothing. When you search an address in "Voting Locations" on the homepage, your browser asks OpenStreetMap's free address service directly and the result is used on your device to move the map. The address never reaches the campaign and we never store it. The map itself loads from OpenFreeMap, which (like any website) sees standard connection details when tiles load.
Why we collect it
- To coordinate volunteering. Phone is what we use most.
- To understand which neighbourhoods our support is coming from.
What we never do
- We never sell your information. To anyone, for any reason.
- We never hand the information you give us to other campaigns, parties or data brokers.
- We never sign you up for anything you did not ask for.
Where your information lives
Volunteer sign-ups are submitted through our website's form system and are only accessible to the small group of people who run this campaign.
Your choices
- Ask what information we have about you.
- To do any of the above, email voteforsandeep@gmail.com or call 416-417-0230.
After the election
Campaigns end. After the legally required retention period, records that no longer need to be kept are deleted.
Questions?
Write to voteforsandeep@gmail.com or call 416-417-0230. A person answers, usually Sandeep.
